How DinnerVeto works
Free rounds, premium perks, and everything you need to know before your first match.
How many free games do I get?+
Anonymous guests receive 3 free matching rounds total. Creating a free account instantly unlocks 2 more rounds for a lifetime total of 5 free rounds.
Is it always free for my friends to join a room?+
Yes! Entering a room code or clicking an invite link to join an existing lobby is always 100% free and never uses up your free rounds. Only the room creator (host) uses a round to start the lobby.
What does the Premium Tier unlock?+
Premium unlocks unlimited game rounds and full access to 'Custom Game Mode' filters (advanced pricing controls, macro/dietary tracking, and restaurant category isolation). Choose a 3-Day Weekend Pass for $0.99 or the Lifetime Gold Pass for $4.99 — both are one-time purchases with no subscription.
What is DinnerVeto?+
DinnerVeto is a real-time picker for couples and roommates who can't agree on where to eat. One person hosts a session, the other joins with a 4-digit code, and you swipe through nearby restaurants together. Whatever survives the vetos — you eat.
How do I start a session?+
Tap 'Start a Session' on the home screen. You'll get a 4-digit room code. Share it with your partner so they can join from their own phone.
How do the vetos work?+
Each player gets 2 vetos per round. When a restaurant card appears, you each tap Yes or Veto. If either of you vetos, the card is out and you move on. If you both say Yes, dinner is decided.
How are restaurants chosen?+
The host enters a zip code, radius, budget, and cuisine preferences. We pull a fresh list of nearby spots that match — sorted by best match — so every session feels different.
Do I need an account to play?+
No. You can play as a guest with 3 lifetime rounds, or sign in with Google or Apple in one click for 5 lifetime rounds and the option to upgrade to Premium for unlimited play.
